Hats off to the AUSRA JR D Boys who nearly overcame a 24 point deficit only to run out of time and suffer their first non win of the season to Etobicoke Storm 42-39. After a very slow start with a defense full of of gapping holes AUSRA began to settle down but still found themselves trailing 32-8 at the half. Several minor adjustments were made, roles and responsibilities identified and above all the team was encouraged to not give up. This resulted in a rejuvenated highly motivated group of players eager to get back on the floor and give it their all. At one point late in the game a very inspired Matas Z was heard to shout out and challenge the Storm with a resounding « BRING IT ON!! » Wow….talk about focussed determination!
Everyone contributed to the surge both on defense and offense. Exceptional efforts were demonstrated by Adam Kuliesius, Justin Turuta, Darius Sablinskas, Vytas Simkus, Daniel Kuliesius, Aras Saplys, Petras Peciulis and Matas Zenkevicius.
